IT’S officially jumper season and Camera Club has been celebrating the excuse to hide away inside away from the cold with our ‘cosy’ theme.

From roaring fires to sleeping animals we were left feeling as snug as a bug in a rug thanks to this comforting collection.

Oxford Mail:

Plenty of pampered pets featured in submissions, from a canine snuggling inside their owner’s coat by Tracy Morris to a contented cat snoozing by Katie Lauren.

We especially loved Kim Hayden’s image of puppy Heen, whose face was only partially visible thanks to being engulfed by a fleece blanket.

Oxford Mail:

Other creature captures we enjoyed included a pair of huddling penguins at Marwell Zoo in Hampshire by Sharon Allen and an unusual image, which stretched the traditional definition of the theme, by Ness Ling.

Her picture featured a Pastel Clown Ball Python tucked inside a toilet roll.

Oxford Mail:

We love how the snug snap was taken close-up and facing the reptile, part of its head just peeking out at the top.

It wasn't just animals who enjoyed our cosy theme.

We loved Charlotte Hickman black and white photograph of daughters Ella and Keeva cuddled together on the sofa as they watch a film.

Oxford Mail:

Another heartwarming image was Linda Milburn's granddaughter looking very comfortable as she naps 18 years ago.

Lest you think being indoors was the only way to stay cosy we had plenty of images taken outdoors.

One of our favourites was Jayme Granito's shot of Harcourt Arboretum with a walk through the woods leaving the photographer feeling cosy.

Oxford Mail:

In Kimberley-Jane Day's shot, meanwhile, a couple are wrapped up warm for a stroll in the snow.

As requested, we also had a tea cosy or two from Sue Dickinson. We particularly liked this array of Dad’s Army characters immortalised at a tea room in Norfolk called Poppyland which was 1940s-themed.

Oxford Mail:

Next week’s theme is ‘autumn’.

This always produces spectacular entries and we can’t wait to see what you come up with this year.

Join our Camera Club – which now has more than 1,200 members online by searching Facebook for Oxford Mail Camera Club.

This week’s winning shot will appear in tomorrow’s paper.

Happy snapping!
