THAMES Valley Police will get just shy of 200 new police officers in the first wave of Boris Johnson's 20k police boost.
This morning the Home Office announced that Thames Valley Police - the largest non-met police force - will be able to hire 183 officers as 6,000 roles are opened across the country.

As it is TVP employ around 4,000 police officers, so the new recruits will bring about a five per cent increase.
Thames Valley Police covers 2,200 square miles across Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire.
It is thought that around 600 new roles will be created in the force over the next few years as part of the new prime minister's pledge to roll out 20,000 officers.
He made the promise as one of his key commitments during the conservative leadership race.
