Generous pupil from Gayhurst School helps raise money for charity.

Gayhurst School in Gerrards Cross have supported the charity Afrikids since it was introduced by a parent last year.

The Headmaster was recently contacted by one of the charity’s Supporter Experience Assistants, Kristin Tadlock, who informed the school about one of Gayhurt’s pupils personal efforts to help the charity.

Oreoluwa Oduleye had decided that instead of receiving presents for her 10th birthday she asked for charitable donations to Afrikids.

The charity helps children receive an education, gain access to healthcare services and stay protected on issues such as child marriage.

Kristin said: “These are qualities that we love seeing in young people and we believe this is a testament to Ore’s family as well as the amazing team of educators at Gayhurst school.”

Due to her generosity Oreoluwa was awarded a headmaster’s commendation on October 7 during the school’s Harvest Assembly centred around the theme of sharing.

The school added: “Gayhurst school and Afrikids both feel very proud to have such an incredible and bright young lady raising awareness for this cause.”
