A CARPENTER has had his only working chainsaw stolen and a community is rallying together to replace it.

Crewz Barrett makes wood carvings for a living, but work has come to a stop after his chainsaw was taken from his caravan in Witney at the weekend.

People are now raising money to help him buy a new one.

Two online fundraising pages have been set up by residents in the town.

Karen Adams, who says Mr Barrett only had the saw for three months, is leading one of them on Facebook to raise £300 and so far £255 has been donated.

The other was set up by Luisa Butler on Paypal and has exceeded the goal of £150, raising £238.

Sarah Phillips said: "How disgusting, why are people so horrid what on earth will those vile people do with that?"

Mike Cookson said: "How low can people stoop. Poor lad's only trying to make a living."

Mantha Jane said: "How low can some people get. This affects such a big part of his life. He tries to make money for himself and also for the horses he has. Shame on whoever done this."
