PUPILS with a variety of talents have been welcomed to Oswestry School on new scholarships.

Some of the scholars are current pupils at the school who have sat assessments but many are new to the Upper Brook Street school.

This year, award-winning children have joined Oswestry School from Addleen, Mary Webb, Moreton First, Thomas Adams, Trefonen, and Woodside, among others, with scholarships being offered in art and design, drama, sport, music, languages and boarding.

Headmaster, Julian Noad, was delighted to welcome the new students that may have not been able to attend should they not have received a scholarship.

“It is wonderful to welcome so many new pupils to Oswestry School whose talents have been acknowledged," said Julian.

"For some children, the option of studying at the school would not have been possible were it not for the scholarships we offer.

"We expect each scholar to be a role model for our other pupils bringing enthusiasm and dedication alongside their academic ability or special talent.

"I look forward to meeting next year’s scholarship applicants in January 2020."

Scholarships for entry to Oswestry School in September 2020 are now being considered.
