TEENAGER Alicia Robinson has followed her father’s trail after riding a motorbike from the age of four.

The 17-year-old student at King Alfred’s Sixth Form in Wantage is a member of the local motorcycle club, North Berks MCC.

Her experience has grown over the years and she now competes in international motorcycling events, where her dad Stuart is her mechanic and coach.

Having the opportunity to travel across Europe, and even as far as America and Japan, Alicia is busy competing in either the full British, European or World Championship Series.

Travelling to Portugal and France for the first and second rounds of the 2019 Championship, she picked up a 6th and 9th position.

After this disappointing start to the championship Alicia was determined to improve her result, and pushed herself to the limit during training at home, completing early morning and late evening sessions on the bike and in the gym with her personal trainer.

Alicia’s sister Leah said the final round of the World Championship was held in the town of La Nucia, on the outskirts of Benidorm.

She added: “With a large entry in the Trial2 Women’s Class, Alicia knew she had to work tremendously hard to gain a good result.

“As temperatures reached 28 degrees on the steep embankments of the Spanish mountains, she did not tire all day, which kept her at the peak of her performance to take her first ever World Championship round victory.

“As she finished the event, she was greeted with a huge applause and many congratulations from the spectators and fellow competitors.

“The news of her winning brought tears to her eyes as Alicia has been working exceptionally hard for many years to achieve her goal.”

Oxford Mail:

Ms Robinson said her sister would continue to train hard during the winter season to comeback even stronger for the 2020 World Series, where she will be looking to be back on top of the podium, to take the overall Trial2 Women’s World Championship Title.

Oxford Mail:

The Robinson family said it was grateful for the continued support from her local Oxfordshire sponsors, who help Alicia to chase her dream.

Alicia’s family has thanked Absolute Casing, Bicester Tyre and Exhaust, Dereck Does All, Fleur De Lys, GLL Sport Foundation, MPA Liquid Screed, North Berks MCC, Utopia Disco, Sportspecific and Standlake Vehicle Services.
