BUSINESSES are doing their part to fight cancer as they come together for an Oxfordshire wide networking group.

Business Buzz, a series of local networking groups in Banbury, Bicester, Thame, Wallingford and Witney is encouraging business owners, entrepreneurs and freelancers to join them for networking over coffee and cake as well as a silent auction.

This year, the networking group’s meeting is on Friday, September 27, coinciding with Macmillan’s biggest coffee morning, so the organisation is doing its part for the cause.

Katrina Sargent, Co-Founder of Business Buzz and Regional Lead for Oxfordshire, said: “As this year our Big Buzz falls on Macmillan’s world’s biggest coffee morning we thought it would be a great opportunity for people to come together to grow their business over coffee and cake while helping to change lives.

“Business Buzz is a no membership-based series of local networking events, so everyone is invited!”

Organisers of the award-winning networking group are asking businesses to come together under one roof on September 27 between 10 and 12 noon.

The ‘Big Buzz’ is being held in partnership with Oxford City Football Club and will take place at the club’s grounds on Marsh Lane.

Business Buzz is aiming to attract more than 100 business owners, entrepreneurs and freelancers to the event.

Tickets for the event are just £10 which includes unlimited tea and coffee and there are still opportunities for businesses to enhance their profile by booking a banner stand.

Business Buzz will be donating £1 from each ticket sale and £5 from each banner stand booking to Macmillan and operating a cake sale and silent auction.

Macmillan Cancer Support’s big coffee morning is held each year in September, and sees community groups, businesses, schools, councils, families and others sell cakes and hot drinks across the UK to raise money for the charity.

According to Macmillan’s website there are four coffee mornings planned in and around Oxford, as well as three others being held at M&S stores across the city.

Business Buzz Oxfordshire currently has networking groups in Banbury, Bicester, Thame, Wallingford and Witney and is a way for people to catch up with their local business community.
