POLICE were given more time to question four boys and men arrested in connection with the death of PC Andrew Harper.

The police officer was killed responding to a burglary in the village of Sulhamstead.

Four suspects were arrested on Tuesday morning following a series of dawn raids carried out by 100 officers.

One 18-year-old man and two 17-year-old boys from Reading were re-arrested, alongside a 21-year-old man from Basingstoke cuffed for the first time connection with the murder investigation.

Police can hold somebody in custody for 24-hours before making a charge or releasing them, but can apply for more time to question about serious crimes, like murder.
