A DISQUALIFIED motorist took a car without the permission of its owner, drove it while three times the drink-drive limit, and then damaged it.

Peter Colborne, of Richmond Park Road in Bournemouth, has been hit with a 52-month ban – meaning he'll be unable to get behind the wheel for more than four years – after the incident on August 25.

He appeared at Poole Magistrates' Court last week to admit drink-driving, driving while disqualified, using a vehicle without insurance and aggravated vehicle taking.

The 47-year-old was caught driving the Hyundai I20 in King John Avenue, Bournemouth with 105 micrograms of alcohol in his breath. The limit is 35 micrograms.

As well as the ban, Colbourne was sentence to 18 weeks suspended for 12 months and told he must have treatment for an alcohol requirement for six months.

In addition, he has to comply with a rehabilitation activity requirement for 20 days and pay a £120 surcharge, as well as £85 costs.
