RESIDENTS cornered a disruptive swan after the bird caused a nuisance on a busy Oxford road at rush hour.

Thames Valley Police were called to Woodstock Road at about 5.30pm yesterday following reports of the swan 'causing an obstruction' in the middle of the road.

But members of the public managed to block off the bird, preventing it from creating anymore trouble, until animal rescue teams arrived.
