FAMILIES have been out and about during the summer holidays exploring the great outdoors – thanks to the Pendle Hill Landscape Partnership.
More than 300 children have attended 18 family events during July and August.
Each event had a different theme to encourage families to learn something new about their local area, from archaeology, to bug hunting and identifying wildflowers.
One family’s highlight of the holidays was the Uncovering Archaeology session in Barrowford.
The event was delivered in partnership with UCLan Community by Archaeology staff at UCLan.
A mum from Great Harwood said: “My crew of children had a brilliant time learning lots about history and archaeology, learning new skills and discovering somewhere we have never been before.”
Due to the success of this particular event, the Pendle Hill Landscape Project plan to deliver the session again next year. The scheme started in April 2018.
