AN opticians will welcome an MP next week to help it highlight an important service available to the local community.
Specsavers in Bicester has invited Victoria Prentis, MP for North Oxfordshire, on Thursday, to inform her about its Minor Eye Conditions Service (MECS).
It is for people who experience eye problems, such as dry eye, red eye or visual disturbance, which can be diagnosed and quickly treated by specially trained opticians.

This enhanced level of eye care reduces the need for residents to visit their GP or local hospital, providing a hassle-free alternative to accessing services for eye health.
Specsavers Bicester store director, Sarah Marshall, said: ‘We’re delighted to be welcoming Victoria to the store to tell her more about MECS.
"We have the skills, equipment and qualified staff to ensure that patients are quickly assessed and treated or referred to hospital for any serious problems."
