SEVEN restaurants in Oxford have been nominated in food delivery service Deliveroo's first restaurant awards.

The firm has been asking members of the public to send in their nominations and in Oxford this has included recommendations for burger bars, Indian restaurants, Japanese food, noodles, Korean food, and Italian.

Voting will soon open for the public to chose their winners among the nominees which in Oxford are 4500 Miles From Delhi in Park End Street, Craft Burger in Windmill Road, Bamboo Korean Restaurant in St Clement's Street, Chozen Noodle in George Street, La Cucina in St Clement's Street, Taberu in Cowley Road and Noddle Nation in Gloucester Green.

There are 19 categories in which people can vote for their favourite restaurants and the Oxford entries cover everything from best burger to best cheap eats.

Organisers said the voting will open the second week of September and the winners will be announced at a ceremony on October 17 which promises to 'honour the best of Britain's restaurants'.

Deliveroo CEO Will Shu said: "Over the past six years Deliveroo has been fortunate enough to work with over 20,000 British takeaways and restaurants and The Deliveroo Restaurant Awards is just the latest way we’re helping to celebrate our amazing restaurant partners."
