Two fires on a grass verge have been put out on the M4.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire Control took 35 different calls about the fires with crews from Swindon and Westlea attending two separate sets of fire.
Both fires were westbound on the M4 between Swindon junction 16 and Chippenham junction 17.
A spokeswoman for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire Control said: "Firefighters from Westlea and Swindon fire stations were called at 2.35pm to reports of a small grass fire on a verge of the M4 motorway between junctions 16 and 17.
"When they arrived, firefighters found two small grass fires which they extinguished using hose reels.
"The stop message was received at 2.57pm."
It is not yet known how the two fires started but officers are working to establish a cause.
