A NURSERY group near Kingston Bagpuize has received a £1,000 donation to continue running.

Housebuilder Bloor Homes gave the funds to Southmoor Baby & Toddler Group.

The voluntary group, which meets every week at the Southmoor Village Hall, is run by parents, grandparents and carers who bring their children along on term time Fridays.

Jo McBrien, one of the volunteers, said: “This donation will make a huge difference in that it will help to safeguard the future of the group.

"We now know we can survive for another 12 months and continue to provide the young families in the village with a valuable resource and place to meet."

She continued: “It will be used to help pay for our overheads, including village hall hire costs and catering costs. We will put some towards purchasing craft materials, some new sustainable wooden role play resources as well as some soft play equipment to try and keep the toddlers busy.

“The families are really looking forward to seeing how the money can benefit our fantastic group.”
