WITHIN the last two weeks I have come across two incidents where vehicles have collided with the newly constructed roundabout on the A40 between Witney and Minster Lovell.

In my opinion the cause is simply that the drivers of these vehicles are not paying proper due care and attention to their driving.

I feel that I am qualified to make these observations as I was a police officer for 27 years, the last 21 years engaged in road traffic patrol.

My main concern is that before long there will almost inevitably be a tragedy.

I think that the 50mph speed limit signs could easily be missed.

Consideration should be given to the erection of a speed operated flashing sign, which is triggered by vehicles travelling in excess of the speed limit.
