MEMBERS of Oxford's Bath Street mosque marked Eid al-Adha in the sunshine this weekend.

Pictures show worshippers gathered at Angel and Greyhound Meadow for the Muslim festival, which is the second of two Islamic holidays celebrated worldwide each year.

Moznu Miah, chairman and trustee of the mosque, said: "It was the first time we've held prayers outside and we wanted to take advantage of the good weather."

He thanked police and councillors for helping make the event a success.

There were also outdoor prayers on Sunday morning at Cheney School in Headington, put on by the Oxford Eid Extravaganza team.

It was followed by a free family fun day, which included fairground rides, music and food stalls.
