ONE of four national brands to leave a Witney shopping centre will close its store next month.

Arcadia Group has confirmed Dorothy Perkins in Marriotts Walk will shut on September 21, after news of the closure broke last week.

The group has not said when its Wallis and Evans store will close, while Debenhams will leave the shopping centre next year.

A spokesperson said Arcadia would 'endeavour' to offer staff other jobs within the group.

She said: "We are constantly reviewing our store portfolio across the Group, investing in flagship stores, and increasing our Brands' digital presence.

"Our click and collect service across the Brands is also proving a successful way of helping our customers collect their purchases at a location most convenient to them.

"We endeavour to offer current staff other employment options within the Arcadia Group."

Arcadia staved off collapse in June with a rescue plan involving 1,000 job losses and shutting 50 stores.

Business experts in Witney have denied the closures reflect the health of the town's high street.
