A TEMPORARY car park opposite Didcot Parkway railway station has been approved for two more years.

South Oxfordshire District Council gave formal permission on Thursday this week for the site next door to the Prince of Wales pub on Station Road to be used as a car park for two years.

The land was previously used as a car park but the last planning permission ran out in April 2017.

The plan to use the site again comes months after the opening of a new multi-storey station car park nearby, but there is still a problem with on-street parking in residential areas near the station.

The whole site is also subject to a much larger regeneration plan by the district council, but in considering the car park plan, planning officers noted 'processing of this application has been ongoing for number of years and internal consultation with officers involved has highlighted some work is still ongoing in the consideration of a

scheme to bring this site forward for development'.

Members of public can still see the car park planning application online at southoxon.gov.uk using application reference number P19/S1792/FUL
