SPIDERMEN, Wonderwomen and Hulks are invited to the first Bicester Superhero Activity day next week.

The inaugural super celebration will take over Garth Park on Launton Road from 11am on Wednesday.

Sponsored by Bicester Village and organised by Bicester Town Council, the event replaces the annual Teddy Bear Picnic, which the town's new mayor Jason Slaymaker said 'had run its course'.

Activities on the day will include zorbing, football darts, drumming workshops, inflatables, Punch and Judy, a miniature farm, face painting, live music and a children’s entertainer.

Mr Slaymaker will be handing out prizes for 'amazing costumes' during the day, which runs until 3pm.

He said: “We took the Marvel films as inspiration for the event because everyone loves a superhero and we hope the theme will appeal to a wider age group.”

Refreshments and will also be available.
