A WOMAN suffered a broken collar bone after an assault in Faringdon.

She had ordered some food from Best Food 200 in the Market Place when a man came into the shop and began abusing her verbally.

She crossed the road into the Market Place and the man followed her and began punching her.

The woman was left with a cut lip and broken collar bone.

The man is white, in his early twenties, medium build, about 6ft tall, with short brown hair. He was wearing a light blue shirt.

The incident happened between 11pm on Saturday, October 6, and 1am on Sunday, October 7.

Det Con Will Downey said: "The incident has only just been reported to us because she has been attending doctors' appointments and is in a lot of pain.

"I would ask people to think back to that night and if they saw this man or know who he is, to contact me."
