A DENTAL hygienist in Wantage has been giving children tips on how to keep their teeth clean.
Fiona Stovold, who worked at Portway Dental Care for 21 years, visits local primary school children and other youth groups to talk about the importance of a good, varied and healthy diet in a world where sugar lurks in just about everything we eat and drink.
She feels passionately about getting this message across to young people in order that they maintain healthy teeth for life.

On Thursday she was giving a lesson to young Portway Dental Care patients Rocco Ludlam, Keira Ludlam and Cerys Ludlam.
Keira is 10 years old and said that most of the time she felt okay about coming to the dentist but when she thinks she might have to have a filling or X-ray she gets extremely nervous because she doesn’t know what is happening in her mouth.

She said: “Angeline my dentist and Fiona the hygienist help me to understand tooth brushing techniques and what to eat to help me keep my smile for my nan, who likes it.
"I like my dentist at Portway.”
The dental practice is the oldest in Wantage, last year celebrating its 80th anniversary.
