The summer holidays are well and truly in full swing. If you are already wondering what to do to keep the children entertained, we’ve rounded up a list of activities with something for everyone.

Share you top days out with us and we will add them in.

Oxford Castle and Prison

It wouldn’t be the summer holidays without a trip to a castle. Oxford Castle and Prison has tons on including Knight School, where you learn all the moves you need to be knightly; you even get to take home your own sword. There is also a Shakespeare Festival and Parkour Theatre performances.

Cotswold Wildlife Park

We love being sent photographs and updates on the animals from the staff at Cotswold Wildlife Park, like this photo of a furry critter cooling off in the heatwave. Why not pop along and see them in the flesh?

Oxford Mail:

Hobbs of Henley

If water is more your cup of tea, how about a cruise along the Thames? If you’d like to explore Britain’s most historic river, relaxing and letting the world drift by, there’s no better way to travel. Whether you want a 1 or 2 hour river cruise, a wildlife cruise or even hire your very own self-driven boat, the choice is yours.

Newbury Racecourse

There's lots of family race days this summer - including the Dubai International tomorrow (July 28). The best bit? Kids go free!

Oxford Mail:

Westgate Oxford animal trail

Not everything has to cost a lot in the holidays. Westgate has a free animal trial to keep the family entertained. Collect your map from the Guest Experience Pod, and then roam the centre finding the furry friends. Once your little adventurers have completed the trail, they will even receive a prize to take home.

National Trust – Grey’s Court

With over 500 National trusts across the UK, there are plenty of places to visit. Why not head to Grey’s Court near Henley?

Your children won’t be bored, as there’s so much to do from hunting for bugs in the woods, to discovering their play area, where you can build dens. You might even manage a visit to the tearoom; after all it’s not all about the children!

Oxford Mail:

The Oxford University Museum of Natural History

Calling all wizarding fans. If your muggle has been good, maybe they can stay up later to go to The Oxford University Museum of Natural History. They have an outdoor screening of Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone on Saturday 3rd August at 9pm.

Millets Farm Centre

Millets Maize Maze opens throughout the summer holidays. With 3 different mazes, you can use your imagination and tackle challenges with the pixies, dragons, unicorns and trolls to solve the puzzles. There’s also a bouncy castle, trampolines, ride on tractors, pedal go-karts, crazy golf, sand pits, construction area, toddler zone and garden games. Phew!

Oxford Mail:

Blenheim Palace

Everything from dramatic dueling displays, playful activity workshops in the Pleasure Gardens and battle re-enactments. As well as the recreation of Shakespeare’s lost Rose Theatre, a family cycle day and Countryfile Live which start next Thursday!

There are tons of new attractions for 2019 including a magical new Snow White Garden, with life-size characters, Snow White’s Castle and the dwarfs’ cottage and the new-look musical dancing water fountains.

The Living Rainforest and Crocodiles of the World

Kid a fan of reptiles and creepy crawlies? Learn all about these fascinating creatures at two Oxfordshire attractions - the Living Rainforest and Crocodiles of the World. There are daily feedings and sessions where you can learn all about the animals at both sites.
