WANTAGE Tennis Club threw open its doors for a free session enjoyed by more than 100 people earlier this month.

Ahead of the event on Saturday, July 13, head coach Andy Aitken and his team visited every Primary school in Wantage and Grove to give pupils a taster, before more than 50 came, with family groups and adults, for an open day with coffee and cake.

Mr Aitken said: “It’s been an incredibly tough week, we’ve introduced over 1,000 children to tennis but it’s all made worth while when you see so much energy and enthusiasm on court.

Club Chairman Mark Rowe added: "We’re always keen to share our passion for playing tennis with others.
