MORE changes have been approved to a former job centre in Oxford to transform it into emergency housing for the homeless.

Floyds Row, which is owned by Oxford City Council, is undergoing a £1m renovation to turn it into a 60-bed hub after planning permission was granted in March.

Ramps, fencing, gates, CCTV and lighting, solar panels and landscaping, plus an enclosed dog play area were all approved by the council's West Area Planning Committee at a meeting on Tuesday. The first services are expected to open in October, and be fully operational by the end of 2019.
