A SET of new flags have been approved to fly from Oxford Town Hall.

The Holocaust Memorial, Suffrage, Oxford Living Wage, Earth Day, Royal British Legion, Transgender, West Papua and Purple flags (for disabilities day) were all granted consent at a West Area Planning Committee meeting on Tuesday.

Certain flags such as national ones or the Armed Forces Day flag do not need special permission but many others are treated as advertising by the Government and so need special planning approval.
