A ROAD was closed and emergency services scrambled after fears of a chemical incident in a car in East Oxford.
A police cordon shut off Freelands Road just after 6am after a caller reported symptoms from a possible chemical or harmful substance that they had been in contact with in their car.

One man was taken to hospital for the minor symptoms and the fire service found nothing hazardous in the patient's car.
Paramedics, two fire crews, police and a specialist hazardous materials detection team from Bicester were sent to the scene.
The road was reopened about midday.
