A CARE home in Bicester opened its doors to local artists as part of national Care Home Open Day last week.
Langford View Care Home, encouraged the community to bring out their artistic side by helping its residents create a mural on the fence of its gardens.
All ages got involved and people could also decorate pebbles that the home will hide around the town to be found by the public in an initiative called ‘Langford View Rocks’.
Each year, Care Home Open Day sees homes around the country celebrate a different theme, this year’s being the role of art in care.
Residents painted the fence along with families who were visiting as well as Mayor Jason Slaymaker who made an appearance.
Renee Wilkeley, 68, who lives at the home said: “It was lovely to see the Mayor visit the home, I enjoyed watching the little children enjoying themselves painting the pebbles and the fence."
Local artist, Emma Luff, commissioned a special Bicester-themed painting for the home which will also be on display.
