THE number of police officers in the county has increased over the past year, according to Thames Valley Police Authority.
In 2006, there were 876 officers in Oxfordshire, including 214 in Oxford.
The police authority's latest figures show by March 31 there were 891 police officers in the county, with 245 in Oxford.
In the same period the number of police staff increased from 238 to 250 and Police Community Support Officers from 42 to 63 countywide.
