OXFORDSHIRE will bask beneath scorching sunshine and blue skies today, on the hottest day of the year so far.
Temperatures in Oxford and most of the county were expected to soar to 32 degrees Celsius by 3pm, topping that of tropical holiday destinations including LA and Mauritius.

Met Office weather for Oxford
Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service has urged the public to stay safe at rivers and lakes, reminding people of the dangers of wild swimming.

Chiltern Railways has advised that its services will be running up to six minutes late due to speed restrictions, prompted by the hot weather.

Many people will be heading to parks, pools or pub gardens to make the most of the long-awaited arrival of summer weather - because it won't last long.
