A 24-HOUR relay will take place this weekend to raise money for a cancer charity.

Now in its sixth year, the Relay For Life Oxford will mark the end of a year of fundraising events for Cancer Research UK.

Evie-Mae Crawford, aged eight, who was recently re-diagnosed with leukaemia, is set to open the event at Oxford Harlequins Rugby Club in Summertown.

The event, from midday on Saturday to midday on Sunday, aims to represent how ‘cancer never sleeps’.

Team members take it in turns to walk round a track while everyone else enjoys the carnival atmosphere.
