A CAR has crashed into a house after the driver mistakenly pressed the accelerator instead of the brake.
Firefighters rushed to the scene after the car left Levenot Close in Banbury, mounted the grass verge, footpath, then smashed into a house.
The car and house was severely damaged but the driver and two people home at the time all escaped injury when it happened about 3.30pm on Monday.

Crew manager Luke Ingram said: "It was an unfortunate incident that took place in a quiet residential street.
"The driver mistakenly pressed the accelerator instead of the brake, which resulted in them travelling across the grass verge, footpath when finally coming to rest in the front of the property.
"No injuries were sustained, however there was significant damage to the front of the vehicle."
