ANNELIESE Dodds intends to stand for re-election in Oxford East.

Labour MPs were told on Monday that they had a fortnight to tell the party whether or not they plan to contest the next general election, as preparations for a possible early vote intensify.

Ms Dodds confirmed yesterday that she "would like" to stand. However, she needs to be chosen by her local party, amid fears among some Labour MPs of deselections.

Ms Dodds' majority is more than 23,000.
