OXFORD'S most notorious and prolific flasher has been handed another jail term after exposing himself to women outside the Westgate Centre.

John Bustin has what was termed at Oxford Crown Court yesterday a 'catalogue' of previous offences for similar cases of exposure dating back 30 years.

The 53-year old pervert has also previously been jailed for similar offences and for flouting court orders, most recently in 2017 when he was handed a 20-month sentence for exposing himself near Oxford Ice Rink.

Bustin appeared again at court yesterday having already admitted two counts of exposure, two of breaching a criminal behaviour order and two assaults against police.

Prosecutor Robert Lindsey said Bustin breached the order - which was first put in place in May 2016 - when he was seen at Paradise Square, Oxford, on the afternoon of May 28 holding his penis.

Eyewitnesses who were waiting to catch a bus described Bustin performing a sex act while he stared at them.

Just two days later Bustin returned to the same bus stop and was seen by the same woman, again exposing himself to her.

When police later went to arrest him, Bustin was aggressive and while trying to restrain him he lashed out, punching one officer and spitting at another.

In mitigation at the hearing yesterday Rhianna Fricker said that her client had been doing well after his release from his earlier sentence last year but had slipped into alcohol misuse.

She said that his drinking was the root of his offending.

Sentencing, Judge Ian Pringle QC said he would be failing in his duty to pass anything other than a custodial sentence.

Bustin was jailed for a total of 28 months.
