HE MAY be a world famous actor who has starred in some of the biggest films in recent years.
But it seems Andy Serkis’ fame has not spread to his own backyard.
Attending the unveiling of a plaque to disability campaigner Robin Cavendish near his home in Drayton St Leonard on Sunday, the Lord of the Rings actor spent time mingling with fans.

“Oh, you’re an actor are you?” said one elderly gentleman before adding: “Are you that one who was in Morse?”
Mr Serkis sheepishly explained that his glittering career has still not quite reached the heights of the ITV drama which ended years ago, prompting the obvious follow up question: “Well, what have you been in then?”
The 55-year-old looked at the floor, waiting for the flames of Mordor to swallow him whole.
