A BLUE plaque could be fixed onto the wall of a pub to commemorate Oxford United Football Club.
But, before the 16-inch circular medallion gets put on the wall of the Britannia Inn, facing onto London Road, special permission needs to be granted because of the pub's Grade II listed status.
If the plans go-ahead the plaque will be written in Times New Roman font and will say 'Oxford United Football Club, founded here as Headington FC, 27th October 1893, the former manor ground opposite was its home 1925 – 2001'.
The fans' trust, OXVOX, is behind the idea.
