Police say quad bikes have attracted burglars to farms (stock image)
FARMERS in West Oxfordshire have been warned to beware of burglars on the lookout for machinery and quad bikes.
Thames Valley Police issued advice yesterday revealing that there has been an increase in rural break-ins in the Chipping Norton area in the past few days.
ALSO READ: Farms struggle with 'Brexodus' of migrant workersOfficers added: "Containers have been broken into and farming machinery stolen.
"It appears that quad bikes are quite sought after by thieves so please secure them, identity mark them or consider tracking devices."
Last month police said tractors were increasingly being targeted by thieves in West Oxfordshire.
The force urged land owners and farmers to be vigilant and always remove valuables, especially sat-navs, from their vehicles.
