THE chairman of the Witney branch of the Royal British Legion (RBL) has retired after 34 years in the role.
Les Tacon was thanked for his 'outstanding service' and 'commitment and loyalty' to the legion at the branch's latest meeting.
He received the RBL's Certificate of Appreciation from Lynda Atkins, Oxfordshire county chairman of the RBL.

The Witney branch meets every three months at the Fleece Hotel in Church Green, with new members always welcome.
