TRAFFIC backed up around the city as broken traffic lights were causing problems in two busy areas.

Queues backed up on the A34 and Southern Bypass after a signalling failure at the Hinksey Hill Interchange.

Reports suggest some of the traffic lights are out following a crash yesterday which caused damage to the electrics.

Slow traffic was also reported due to traffic lights failing at the Headington Roundabout.

Safety traffic management was put in place this morning to deal with congestion as lights were out on all approaches.

These have now been fixed.
