A BURGLAR hurled a hedge trimmer at a man after he caught him breaking into his shed in the middle of the night.

The victim, in his 60s, had to have surgery after the hefty garden tool struck his finger.

Two men had climbed over a gate into the victim's back garden in Church Way, Iffley, at 1.40am on Sunday.
