A DOG was rescued from the roadside by police after surviving a brush with death.
Officers shared an image of their unexpected passenger in a police car, after the pet was almost run over earlier today.
Thames Valley Police's roads team said the dog, which appeared to be a black labrador, was 'nearly hit by a vehicle near Abingdon.'

Posting on the force's Facebook page, they added: "Our unexpected crewmate has now been reunited with her owner.
"Thank you to the member of public who stopped with a lead."
Dozens of people have commented thanking officers for keeping the animal safe.
