AN OXFORD group which works with asylum seekers and refugees fleeing from persecution in their own countries, has been enlisted by the Home Office to help EU nationals after Brexit.

Asylum Welcome has been contacted by the government department to offer a service to EU nationals who want to complete the registration that will safeguard their future in the UK.

It is hoped the service will help those who are having difficulties finishing their registrations for the EU Settlement Scheme for various reasons such as isolation, illness, language barriers, confusion with technology, or any other vulnerability.

The new service is now live and is available from 1pm to 4pm Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, then between 10am and 1pm on Thursdays.

It is by appointment only and is a confidential and independent service which will not pass on details to the Home Office without given permission.
