PRIMARY school children near Wantage were treated to a music workshop yesterday.

Grove Primary pupils are among the latest to be involved in a series of events run by Bassistry Music, which aims to bring professional working musicians' expertise to the classroom.

The all-day event saw a workshop put on for each year group before an all school assembly.

Bassistry, which provides a' diverse range of world music, song writing, music technology and dance workshops' in schools nationwide, has started working abroad too.

Earlier this week an event at St Amand's was cancelled, but there are upcoming sessions planned at Fitzwaryn, Ridgeway and Hendred, who are also in the Springline Partnership.

Meanwhile, a separate 'Bring-a-Song' music event is planned at Stockham School later this month, when all the school choirs will be singing.
