A PEDESTRIAN is in hospital with serious injuries to his leg after he was hit by a car near a water sports centre.

The driver of the car who hit the 28-year-old in Berinsfield on Sunday, May 26, did not stop at the scene and has still not come forward.

Officers want to speak to anyone who may have been at the junction of Burcot Lane and Drayton Road between 5pm and 6pm.

Police said the incident was only reported on Tuesday and the man remains in hospital.

Investigating officer PC Andy Wickens of the Joint Operations Unit for Roads Policing based at Abingdon, said: “This collision occurred more than a week ago, but was only reported to us on Tuesday.

“I would like to speak to anybody who may have seen this incident or saw two pedestrians walking in the area to contact police.

“I am also making a direct appeal to the driver of the car involved to get in touch to help with the investigation.”
