TWO girls from Oxford met an astronaut when they were crowned runners up in a competition.
Sisters Roa and Anna Gomes, aged seven and five, entered the Spirograph Young Designer of the Year award in January, and last Wednesday were handed their prize and runners up by the first-ever British Astronaut Helen Sharman.
To be in with a chance of winning, youngsters have to create a night sky or space picture inspired by the shapes and patterns you can make with a spirograph – a stencil that makes geometric shapes.
