Prana Yoga is set to open its upgraded studio in September, after working with a four-year-old studio that was 'bursting at the seams'.

Currently situated in a four-year-old studio under the Common Ground Cafe, on Little Clarendon Street, the new venue will be at 85 Walton Street.

The organisation managed to raise double its fundraising target of £5,000 to fund the new studio.

Speaking after planning permission was granted, Prana owner Simone Jones explained: "The yoga scene here is really bustling these days in Oxford, and tensions running high amongst city planning officials and local residents, most of whom are welcoming new studios with open arms, but a few who are resistant.

"We are thrilled to have just been granted planning permission for what will be a gorgeous new studio, and will be launching September. The news of our opening has hit the ground running and people in the area are so excited to have a yoga centre so near the city centre."

Prana says it will be offering new classes and services 'for the whole community' - and 'adding to the health and wellbeing vibe that has caught on in Oxford'.

The date for the launch party and opening in September is yet to be confirmed.
