CONTROVERSIAL plans for a huge revamp of Oxford Brookes University’s student accommodation are set to be decided this week.

Oxford City Council will host an East Area Planning Committee meeting at the Town Hall on Wednesday.

Among the applications which councillors will decide are plans by the university to demolish eight halls of residence at its Clive Booth Student Village in Headington.

If approved this will be replaced with a total of 1,077 bedrooms, which has sparked concern among some residents.

Council officers are recommending to approve the project at the 6pm meeting.
