AN Oxford University college has applied for planning permission to rent a barn out as a holiday home.

Christ Church wants to let out the building at Church Farm in the village of Elsfield just north of Marston.

The building itself was only built in 2018, but it is next door to the Grade-II listed Church Farmhouse.

For that reason the college has had to seek listed building planning consent.

Last year Christ Church revealed plans to build up to 3,250 new homes on a massive swathe of land it owns between the ring road and Elsfield next to the Barton Park estate.

The college has sent its holiday home planning application to South Oxfordshire District Council.

Members of public can see the application at using reference number P19/S1416/LB.

The council is aiming to make a decision by July 23.
