AN Oxfordshire team beat have won the 2019 Better Club Games, an Olympic-style competition for older people.

South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse claimed their third title after competing in six events, including walking football, short tennis and pickleball.

The event was run by the UK’s largest public leisure provider Better, the consumer facing brand of charitable social enterprise GLL.

Oxford Mail:

The event aimed to encourage older people to become more active and to highlight the social and physical benefits that sporting activities can offer to individuals of all ages.

West Oxfordshire finished in fourth place, despite a victory in the swimming for the fourth year running.
