ROADWORKS caused huge delays for drivers on the A40 this morning.

Eastbound traffic was queuing from Cassington all the way back past Barnard Gate at 7.30am, due to a 20mph speed limit to facilitate surface dressing works.

The speed limit is in place between Cassington and the Eynsham Roundabout and also caused delays on the westbound carriageway.

The restrictions, which are set to be lifted today, also impacted public transport.

Stagecoach tweeted earlier this morning that its S1, S2 and S7 services were delayed by 'up to 30 minutes'.
